Make one piece
of work easier.

Pick a small, repetitive task. A clear email, a meeting follow-up or a process checklist is enough. New to AI? Start with the fictional example below. Use fictional or public information while practicing.

1. Define the task

What arrives? What should come out? Who uses it? What would make the output wrong?

2. Set the boundaries

Which tool are you allowed to use? What information can it receive? What must a person approve?

3. Try this prompt

Help me turn these fictional notes into a clear team update.

Sam owns the draft and will share it Tuesday. Priya is waiting for a vendor quote. The launch date is not approved. Testing can start after the draft review. No testing owner was assigned.

Return a short summary, a table of actions/owners/deadlines, and open questions. Say “not specified” when information is missing. Do not invent a date, owner or commitment. Keep it as a draft for human review.

4. Check the output

Sam owns the draft. Tuesday is the draft deadline, not the launch date. Priya is waiting for the quote; the notes do not say she owns vendor follow-up. Testing has no owner or date. The launch date is unknown.

5. Make it repeatable

Test it on two more sets of fictional notes. Include one with contradictory dates and one missing an owner. Save the corrections and add a rule to your prompt for each failure.

6. Show the work

Save your starting notes, instructions, corrected output and review checklist. If you measure time, include the time spent checking and correcting the output. Don’t claim savings you haven’t measured.
